As with psychotherapy itself, Supervision is based on a contract for services and the first 1-3 sessions of supervision focus on building a clear agreement for the service. Fees for supervision services are discussed and agreed upon in the first consultation as part of building the supervision contract, with Intern Psychologists receiving a discounted rate.

Supervised Practice Program/Intern Psychologists

The Supervised Practice Program offered by the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) is competency-based, and as such the Supervisor must effectively manage the role of Mentor/Coach as well as that of an Assessor. The guidelines  provided by the Board are very extensive and tend to cover almost all possibilities, as well as the competencies that an Intern must meet in order to have their registration conditions removed.

Unfortunately, supervision for clinical endorsement is not available presently.

While Life Resolutions Craigieburn provides supervision (both primary and secondary) for Intern Psychologists, it is expressly forbidden by the Board for Intern Psychologists to work in private practice under the business model we utilise. As such, Interns will need to have found a suitable work role and cannot work for us.
